About
Module 1: Manual Handling Most manual handling courses focus on rules. This course focuses on understanding your body, why injuries happen, and how to prevent them before they occur. Designed by registered osteopath Raymond Daniels, this practical, evidence-based course teaches you how to lift, carry, push, pull, and move loads more safely and efficiently, whether you're at work, at home, in the gym, or caring for others. You'll gain a clear understanding of how your spine, discs, hips, shoulders, and core work together during movement, and why factors such as poor positioning, twisting, fatigue, limited mobility, and repetitive loading are common causes of injury. Rather than simply being told what to do, you'll learn the science behind safe movement so you can confidently apply these principles in everyday situations. Throughout the module, you'll be guided through practical demonstrations covering neutral spine positioning, hip hinging, squatting, pivoting, lifting mechanics, movement preparation, and the Better Bodies Osteo Flow mobility routine. You'll also learn the P4 Protocol (Posture, Position, Pivot, and Please), a simple system you can use before every lift to significantly reduce your risk of injury. The course also explores how to assess your own mobility, prepare your body before physical work, improve recovery after lifting, and build long-term resilience through mobility, strengthening, hydration, and simple daily habits. These strategies don't just help reduce injury risk, they help keep your body moving well for years to come. By the end of this module, you'll have practical tools, downloadable workplace resources, and a simple step-by-step framework that you can immediately apply to lifting, carrying, and manual handling tasks with greater confidence, efficiency, and safety. Introductory Price: $49 NZD
