Practical Training for Your Workplace
Workplace demands can look very different from one organisation to another. Some employees may spend much of the day lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling. Others may spend long periods sitting at a desk, working at a computer, travelling or moving between different environments.
Better Bodies Osteo workplace training is designed to make complex information about the body easier to understand and more practical to apply. Sessions can be tailored around the needs of your organisation. We've worked with office workers at Dairy NZ to Safe Manual Handling at Junk 2 go and Pact NZ. Email us at info@betterbodiesosteo.com to set up a free discovery call to see how we can help.
Workplace Workshops Offered:
Manual Handling Workshops, Movement & Injury-Risk Education
Practical education around lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling and everyday manual handling tasks. Ray explains how the body responds to load and movement and demonstrates practical principles employees can use when approaching physical tasks.
Training can include demonstrations, discussion and practical participation depending on the workplace and the needs of the team. Where appropriate, content can be adapted to reflect the types of movements and physical demands employees regularly encounter in their work.
-
Understanding how the spine and body work during movement
-
Lifting and carrying
-
Pushing and pulling
-
Positioning and movement patterns
-
Pivoting and avoiding unnecessary twisting
-
Asking for assistance when appropriate
-
Mobility and preparation before physical work
-
Fatigue, recovery and resilience
Manual handling education is one part of managing workplace risk. It works best when it supports the way your organisation manages the task itself. This includes the load, equipment, frequency, environment, work organisation and when employees should ask for assistance. The workshop is designed to complement, not replace, your organisation's broader health and safety risk assessment and controls.
Improving Posture & Workplace Ergonomics
Help employees better understand the relationship between their working environment, posture, movement habits and physical comfort.
-
Workplace posture and movement
-
Desk and workstation setup
-
Sitting and standing
-
Common workplace positions
-
Movement throughout the working day
-
Mobility and stretching
-
Practical strategies to reduce unnecessary physical strain
The aim is not simply to tell employees to “sit up straight”, but to help them understand how their body responds to different positions and why movement and workstation setup matter.

Workplace Wellbeing
Practical education to help employees better understand the relationship between breathing, physical tension, stress and everyday wellbeing.
-
Breathing patterns
-
Mental health
-
Stress and the body
-
Fatigue and workplace optimization
-
Simple breathing and movement strategies
-
Practical ways to reset during the working day
-
Mobility and recovery
Sessions are designed to provide practical tools employees can explore and apply in everyday situations.
Choose How Your Team Participates
At Your Workplace
Ray can come directly to your premises to deliver practical, face-to-face training.
On-site sessions allow employees to ask questions, see practical demonstrations, discuss movements or physical demands relevant to their work, and participate where appropriate. Ray has travelled to Hamilton, East Tamaki, West Auckland and locally here on the North Shore.

Why Better Bodies?
Training is led by Raymond Daniels, who holds a Master of Osteopathy (M.Ost), Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Biology), is an Osteopathic Council of New Zealand Registered Osteopath, a registered ACC Provider, former Lecturer in Anatomy and Physiology, with over 10 years of clinical experience.
Raymond brings together clinical experience, anatomy and physiology, practical teaching and real workplace education. His approach is based on helping people understand why their body responds the way it does, rather than simply giving employees rules to memorise.
Raymond recently competed in the Toastmasters International Speech Evaluation Contests, progressing through to the North Island final at the District 112 Conference, where he placed third. His experience in public speaking and communication brings an engaging, interactive style to Better Bodies workshops, helping participants stay involved and get more from the session rather than simply listening to a presentation.

What Organisations Say
Email: Mark Foreman, Philips

Transcript: "Thanks so much for Ray coming to talk to us yesterday at our engineers service meeting. We've had others before and feedback on Ray from team was he's the best :)
Being engineers the team appreciated learning why they should exercise/stretch rather than being just told to. They also enjoyed the mechanistic explanations Ray did which both challenged their understand and got them thinking about what they do and why."

Transcript: "I highly recommend you reaching out to Raymond Daniels regarding how he can assist you and your teams in creating safer, stronger workplaces. He has been doing some great work with Kindercare. Thanks Raymond Daniels."

Transcript: "We had Ray come out to run a manual handling and movement session for our team and he was fantastic! he drove all the way from Auckland to Hamilton just to spend the day with us.
Ray managed to get everyone genuinely engaged (which is saying something!) and the feedback from the crew was all super positive.
He also spent time with our ofice team doing individual desk set up assessments which were pracical and tailored to each person.
He is such a pleasure to work with. Knowledgeable, down to earth and made the whole thing enjoyable. If I ever get the chance I'd absolutely book him again. Couldn't recommend him more!"
